GRUNGE / STEAMPUNK/ VINTAGE THEMED LAYOUTS.

hello my scrappy friends ,
Sadly this is my very last post as a DESIGNER for the
It has been such a wonderful journey creating with these stunning chippies .
thanks to Vanessa and Di for having me on the team
you have a special place in my heart xoxo

2Crafty and Scrap Around the World are getting together
for the month of October with lots of yummo chipboard pieces to win.
here is the mood board and sketch which we are required to use as a prompt .
for more info
I flipped the sketch and created my masked background on the left side
with my cluster plus photo on the right side.

'DREAMS'
The images of the flowers , lacy vase and the shoes suggested a romantic  mood to me .
I decided to go out of my comfort zone and create with yellow, being a color I rarely use and because this is a challenge I thought why not.!!
Paris is the city of love, romance  and art which led me to dreaming of Paris in the Spring.
Beautiful  blooms, art, romance and  the magnificent Eiffel Tower.
2Crafty have just the perfect chipboard items for this theme.

I layered the chipboard/fencing-wire-panel
with the trimmed  chipboard/frames-tiny-henris
both inked with split pea /Versa color ink .
more layered pieces
chipboard/delicate-swirls
 chipboard/frames-tiny-henris
chipboard/words layered over an altered Tim Holtz Metal name plate .

NEXT - from Romance to Steampunk !!!
I discovered this stunning vintage post card and wanted to scrap it in a Vintage/Grunge /Steampunk style
the new giant gears chippies are just perfect .

'MOMENTS IN TIME'

the giant gears are altered by applying some distress ink/Rusty hinge, allow to dry and randomly dab some Celaton / black Versa color ink, to achieve the rusty look .
the same technique is applied to the shrubs .
I completed the look by adding some Tim Holtz crackle paint

My next layout is showcasing my faithful paint brushes
continuing with my Vintage/grunge theme .
'b for Brushes '

the alpha is inked in black and machine stitched.

the chevron pieces are also inked in black
the name plate is trimmed , inked and poked under the mounted photo
the heart is covered in kraft paper, stamped and finished with crackle paint .
I secured the chipboard with a vintage brad.
lots of paper layers, brads and tags.
2Crafty chipboard pieces used.
chevron bits
chicken-wire-panel
sybills-name-plates
heart-banners
alpha-font

my final layout
I am sharing this LO because it is my all time favourite for 2Crafty.
I created this mixed media /Vintage themed page a few months ago showcasing some
stunning chippies and crackle paint
'BLING'

2Crafty chipboard

handy tip :
firstly all chipboard is trimmed , next apply white gesso , then ink in Versa color/ Mountain Lake
By trimming my chippies, I can layer them and make them individual and unique .

this final post shows all my various techniques
monochromatic, mixed media, distressed, grunge/steampunk and Vintage
all showcasing 2Crafty stunning chippies .
thanks so much  for looking at my work
it means a great deal to me .
and I have thoroughly enjoyed my creative journey with 2Crafty and the awesome team of girls
Thanks to Vanessa and Di for having me
hugz from me xoxo

  9. When I look at your pages, there is always a wow feeling, I love it so much, why do I never scrap in this style.....I think I can't because it is not who I am. Your patience for all those stitched details, super!!!!! I had to laugh a little about your yellow being out of your comfort zone. Because your yellow is still a "Heather" yellow. This is a super post, 4 pages of gorgeouness!

  27. I'm curious about how people who do tutorials know that it's the right way to do them. I'm guessing experience? It's a real question, not trying to be smart, want to learn
